Trauma-Informed Care at Whole Kids Co.
At Whole Kids Co., we recognize that trauma can have a lasting impact on a child’s emotional, social, and developmental well-being. That’s why trauma-informed care is at the heart of everything we do. We use evidence-based, compassionate strategies to support healing and resilience in a safe, nurturing environment.
Our Trauma-Informed Approach
Our model—WKC Trauma-Informed Care—is designed to create a responsive, supportive space for children who have experienced adversity. We train our team to recognize the signs of trauma, respond with empathy, and help children build the skills they need to feel safe, connected, and empowered.
We focus on three key principles:
- Connecting – We build trust-based relationships that promote emotional security and positive attachment.
- Empowering – We help children understand and regulate their sensory and physical needs, fostering a sense of control and safety.
- Correcting – We use compassionate, developmentally appropriate strategies to guide behavior and support long-term healing.
Training Our Team
All team members receive annual training in WKC Trauma-Informed Care, ensuring that every child is met with empathy and skill. In addition, we offer Level One and Level Two Trauma Practitioner Certifications to deepen our team’s knowledge and support ongoing growth.
By centering trauma-informed care in our work, we help children rebuild a sense of safety, strengthen relationships, and move forward with confidence.
